Cookies Policy

This Cookies Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies are, which ones are used on this website, what each of them is for, how long they are stored and how you can manage or delete them. It complements our Privacy Policy, which describes how your personal data is processed more generally.

1. What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your computer, phone or any other device when you visit it. Cookies allow the website to remember your actions and preferences — such as the language you selected or whether you are signed in — over a period of time, so you do not have to re-enter them every time you come back or browse from one page to another.

This policy also covers similar technologies used for the same purposes, such as local storage, session storage and IndexedDB, which the browser keeps on your device instead of sending it to the server with every request.

2. Types of cookies

  • By who sets them: first-party cookies are set by skillgap.pro itself; third-party cookies are set by another domain whose content is embedded in our pages.
  • By how long they last: session cookies are deleted when you close the browser; persistent cookies remain on your device until they expire or you delete them.
  • By purpose: strictly necessary cookies are required for the website to work and cannot be switched off; preference cookies remember your choices; analytics cookies measure how the site is used; marketing cookies build a profile of your interests to show you personalised advertising.

3. Cookies used on this website

The following cookies and similar technologies are used by skillgap.pro. Those marked as strictly necessary are required for the website and the services you request to work. The Google Analytics cookies are analytics cookies: they are only set if you accept them in the cookie banner (see section 4).

_ga_<container-id>Google Ireland Limited (third-party)Analytics (Google Analytics 4). Keeps the state of your session so page views and visits can be counted. Only set after you accept analytics cookies.2 years

Embedded video content

Some pages embed videos hosted on YouTube (Google Ireland Limited). These videos are not loaded until you click to play them. Once you do, YouTube may set its own cookies and read identifiers on your device to deliver the video, remember your playback preferences and measure viewing statistics. Those cookies are set by Google under its own policies, and we have no access to or control over them. You can review them in Google's cookies policy.

Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe on its own hosted checkout pages. You are redirected to Stripe to complete a purchase, and any cookie set during that step belongs to Stripe and is governed by Stripe's privacy policy. No Stripe cookies are set while you browse skillgap.pro.

4. Analytics and marketing cookies

We use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google Ireland Limited, to understand in aggregate how visitors use skillgap.pro and to improve it. It is only used if you accept it. Until you accept, the Google Analytics script is not loaded at all, no request is made to Google for this purpose and no analytics cookie is set. If you reject, nothing is loaded either.

You can change your decision at any time with the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page. If you withdraw a previous acceptance, we delete the Google Analytics cookies and stop loading the script. We ask for your choice again after 12 months.

Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. Data is used for statistical purposes only; we do not use it for advertising and we do not combine it with your account data. See Google's privacy policy and the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

This website does not use advertising or profiling cookies. Should we introduce them, or any other non-essential cookie, we will ask for your prior consent, and this policy will be updated before it goes live.

5. Legal basis

Under article 22.2 of Law 34/2002, of July 11, on Information Society Services and Electronic Commerce (LSSI-CE), and Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), cookies that are strictly necessary to provide a service expressly requested by the user do not require consent. The cookies and storage entries described in section 3 as strictly necessary fall into that category: without them you could not sign in, browse the site in your chosen language or remember your cookie choice.

The Google Analytics cookies are not strictly necessary. They are only used on the basis of your consent (article 6.1.a GDPR), freely given through the cookie banner and revocable at any time from the footer link “Cookie settings”.

6. How to manage or delete cookies

You can allow, block or delete cookies at any time from your browser settings. Bear in mind that blocking the strictly necessary cookies listed above will prevent you from signing in and may stop parts of the website from working correctly.

Most browsers also offer a private or incognito mode in which cookies are always deleted once you close the window.

7. International transfers

Some of the third-party providers mentioned above may process data outside the European Economic Area. Those transfers are covered by the guarantees required by the GDPR — adequacy decisions of the European Commission, standard contractual clauses or another legal mechanism permitted by the Regulation. You will find more detail in our Privacy Policy.

8. Changes to this Cookies Policy

We may update this Cookies Policy to reflect changes in the cookies we use or in the applicable legislation. Any new version will be published on this page, so we recommend that you review it periodically.
